The learner is expected to understand and then answer questions related to the theme.
Suggestions could include:
• Describe the different types of shops, payment methods, receipts and refunds, budgeting etc
• Explain how you pay for different services e.g. money, cards, cheque, PayPal
• Ask for the price of things and comment on whether this is expensive, reasonable, cheap etc
• Discuss your experiences ordering online / e-shopping
• Compare two or more things you have bought by size, cost, quality and how easy it was to get
• Give your opinions about current and past shopping experiences
Money and payments:
Pounds and pence, euro, foreign currency, coin, notes, change, how much?, owe, value, cash, cheque, credit/debit card, bill, invoice, rent, tax, mortgage, HP, deposit, receipt, VAT, interest. Number signs linking to units, e.g. 20p, £4,500, 2 kg, 8lbs, 10%, 50 euros, 700 grams. Expensive, cheap, bargain, in the sales, refund, commission, discount, 2 for the price of 1, spent, save, each.
Shops:
Market, supermarket, department store, garden centre, clothes, shoes, DIY, bank, building society, travel agency, till, queue, trolley, cashier, manager, shelf/shelves, price tag, rack, open, closed.
E-shopping:
Internet bank, website, password, PIN number, private, credit card, cash point, card number, delivery, email.
How the booking is made?
One-2-One: Only one person can book
Public: Anyone can book
Private Group: Only people from the same company/organisation can book. A minimum of 2 people is required.
Notification of cancellation of a booking by you:
5 working days before the start date = 75% refund.
2 working days before the start date = 50% refund.
Less than 1 working day (24 hours) of the start date = no refund.
